TAMWORTH MINIATURE RAILWAY

TDME is responsible for building and managing this facility, situated in the scenic hills of East Tamworth, in Victoria Park, adjacent to the Tamworth Regional Botanical Gardens at the top end of Piper Street, Tamworth. Click here for map and detailed directions.

We have two 600 metre dual-gauge (5 inch and 7¼ inch) tracks in concentric circuits with a 4 platform station and ticket office, 10 metre tunnel, fully serviced steaming bays, loading traverser, and rolling stock storage. An additional 400 metre Oxley loop features an 18 metre Bailey bridge, a second 10 metre tunnel, and spectacular views back to the Tamworth airport.

A secure workshop, loco store, signal box, and Club rooms augments the miniature railway and provides facilities for Club meetings, loco and equipment storage, and workshop equipment and maintenance facilities.

The Picnic Pavilion provides undercover and outdoor seating and tables and is complete with a barbecue to meet the culinary needs of both our younger and older visitors alike.

TDME gratefully acknowledges the significant assistance from Tamworth Regional Council, NSW State Government, major sponsors Job-Link Plus and Tamex Transport, the Tamworth business community, and the community at large.
